What we don't need are more creative taxes. We need to reduce the entitlement philosophy. Who is to blame for those who don't take advantage of a free education, who don't take a lower level job as a means to better themselves and a path toward a better future? Not those who do work hard. People need to learn to be responsible for themselves and for their families. Figuring out new ways to reduce stress to pay for those who can't pay for themselves is not the answer. Rather than give a man Read more [...]
[Elaine using Stew's account] Unfortunately I have seen the women wind up in very bad positions after the husbands left for other women. The toll on women and children is often horrible. I agree that if the wife is a drug/alcohol abuser as in the case above, then she should not have the children and should not be receiving alimony of child support. In many cases, how to get your wife backever, I see the women barely abe to make it and the men hiding money, buying big cars , houses and lots of Read more [...]
The'Bam came to office with the thinnest and most shallow resume keywords' ever. He was elected because hack kneed RINOs and so called neo cons' made it possible. America is now getting what it deserves because she had abandoned those pronciples and standards of righteousness that made her great. Nevertheless, there are those of us out here that have not given up our futures to the permanent welfare crowd, leftist, and media sychophants that still talk of Obama as though he invented the peanut butter Read more [...]
You've got that right; I moved from the Northeast to the Southwest and everything you listed is there. And........since Right to Work is bigger out here, it's easier to get a job. Decent pay, like anywhere else, does require an education, of course, and admittingly college costs are much higher than they were in my day.
One thing I learned early on in my career before I finally retired; job opportunity in a time of competitive scarcity can come from taking a job that most people wouldn't want; this Read more [...]
Release types of cats feral cats? Even when neutered, feral cats are not desired. It is one thing to see a neighbor's pet in your backyard; seeing mystery cats in poor condition is not nice
. My caution is that vet costs for rescuing feral cats run my neighbor above $1000 just for shots and worms. Also obtaining cat pets from the Humane society is as expensive, with several examples of terrible feline behavior along with ringworm or mange. It was a shock to understand that the local Humane society Read more [...]
Really, Terry??? I don't get the premise of the WSJ position. Is a poster that informs workers they have a right to minimum wage discrimination in the workplace propaganda. Is a poster stating that the workplace cannot impose discrimination based on race a piece of propaganda based on some radical pro-equality agenda? Last I checked, these are basics parts of democracy, just as it has been a basic right for over 70 years to form a union for collective bargaining purposes. Grow up, people. Collective Read more [...]
I had an HP with 64bit AMD Athlon bought way back in 2004. Despite a lid that wouldn't stay up, this computer still purrs along, now with Window7. My HP has outlasted my brother's Dell, bought around the same time. I bought another HP laptop for my daughter and my only complaint is that it runs hotter than it should...but it is fast with great design.
We have also had Compaq in the past. I have never had a complaint with HP except for their low battery life.
They need someone with vision over there Read more [...]
If you didn't get the memo back in 2008-09, the measure is fail. Fail for 7 Japanese (and Korean and German) auto companies. That's what you get - that is the measure - same measure. Take your medicine from the Big3 spoon. 7 brides for 7 brothers was only a television show to measure stress. The brides were never you. You won't be taking astronauts to the shuttle - it's gone. Too much money going offshore and too much military support building these auto companies. You measure too much fail to others Read more [...]
The sample size is adequate. The real issue I find with the study is that it poses only informational interview questions that would really offend a progressive's preconceived view of economics. If they had gone further and examined questions that also challenge a Libertarian view point of economics, this study would have more weight. If you read their paper, they actually acknowledge this. Why they didn't think to include these kind of questions I don't understand - it really weakens the paper. Read more [...]
Yes, if we only had more Womyn's Studies majors the world would be so... emotional bullying? Ignorant, unemployed, and emotional. Ahhhh... utopia at last.
This government school has all of the same issues and complaints as most other government organizations. They have increased their spending at a rate MUCH higher than inflation (plus increased enrollment) and are now claiming that they are underfunded. In reality, they are irresponsible and have spent unwisely. The administration's higher education Read more [...]
